This course is for stage actors who are looking to take their current skills to the screen; TV, film, and internet. The focus of the material used in class is to leverage the amazing skills you've learned in theatre and bring them to life via the film and TV medium.

About the Course

In "From Stage to Screen," you will learn the fundamentals of being a TV and Film Actor from Single Cam Comedy to Serial Drama, as well as the differences in acting on TV vs Film. We will also teach you how to be in the moment and how to find your inner voice.

  • Explanation of character breakdown, side breakdown, internal monologue, wants and whys of scenes, being in the moment, organic and grounded acting
  • Single Cam comedy- Finding the comedy in the scene, 3 in a rows, Differences in Single cam comedy - Disney - Nick - Network - Cable- Streaming
  • Multi Cam Comedy - Finding the comedy in the scene, 3 in a rows, Differences in Single cam comedy - Disney - Nick - Network - Cabe- Streaming- 
  • Serial Drama- Finding the differences in Drama- Serial drama- Network - Cabe- Streaming- 
  • Drama Cable - Working on Grounded acting
  • Comedy Film - Finding the comedy in the scene, 3 in a rows, Differences in Comedy movies - Step Brothers VS Lady Bird
  • Drama Film-  Working on Grounded acting and emotions
  • Taking the best 2 scenes for each actor and presenting to the class, head directors/managers of the Academy, family and friends.

A self-tape is not required, but we would love to see where you are at with your on camera acting skills so that we can meet you where you are.

To join some of our courses you are required to submit an audition or self-tape video. Aspire Academy teachers and coaches  will review your submission and evaluate your level of experience.
